Walter Payton students and staff congratulate Alex Zorn for being one of only 24 students throughout the country to be selected for the 2008 US Physics Team. Alex earned this distinction on the basis of his performance on three exams, the last of which lasted more than three hours. As a member of the Physics Team, Alex is now invited to attend a training camp at the University of Maryland during which students will receive intense training in preparation for the International Olympiad. Five of the 24 students will be selected for the traveling team which will compete against students from more that sixty other countries, this year in Vietnam. Congratulations to Alex, and to Daping Weng who was one of 158 semifinalists in the country, and to Adam Kornick who was among only 415 students nationally to reach the quarterfinal stage.
